A neural network trained on classical astrology

How we build readings

Astromir is a personal astrology platform. We combine precise astronomical calculation, the classical astrological tradition and a modern voice, so that complex ideas are clear without special training.

Methodology

A reading is built in three steps. First, the significators of the topic are identified in your chart — the planet, sign, house and aspects that actually govern the question. The neural network, trained on classical astrological literature, then applies the classical method to that data. Only after that is the reading of your chart written.

The order matters: structure and method first, text second. That is why the same topic reads differently for two people — it rests on their charts, not on a random phrasing.

1The neural network analyses your chart: planets, signs, houses and aspects.
2It is trained on classical and modern astrological literature — from early sources to authors of our day.
3The answer is written for your chart: we do not quote the books, we apply their method to your situation.

We do not quote books verbatim and we do not reproduce other people's texts. We study the method and the language of the tradition and set out the interpretation in our own words. This is a principle of both our editorial work and our technology.

Interpretations are summarised and written in our own words. We rely on the method of classical astrology rather than reproducing book texts.

The works we draw on

We work with the classical and modern astrological tradition — from 17th-century sources to authors of our day. Below are the strands our neural network is trained on.

The classical tradition

Primary sources of 17th-century Western astrology and their modern successors: the doctrine of planetary dignity, houses and aspects, and the technique of traditional chart judgement.

Psychological and humanistic astrology

20th-century authors who married astrology to depth psychology: planets read as psychological functions, houses as spheres of life and stages of development.

The Russian astrological school

The Russian school of the late 20th and early 21st centuries: systematic courses in natal, predictive and synastry astrology, and encyclopaedias of houses and aspects.

Modern practice

Practical handbooks on transits, forecasting and working with a chart, published over recent decades.
